About the Fellowship
IACM is honored to announce a call for applications for the Marjorie and Daniel Druckman Research Fellowship. This fellowship provides an opportunity for yearly support of new research by doctoral students (currently matriculated in a doctoral program) and post-docs (up to two years following the doctorate and prior to a faculty position).
Funding will cover a portion of the costs for a research project conducted over the course of one year - beginning at the conclusion of the annual meeting and concluding at the beginning of the next annual meeting.
Research topics should focus broadly on the themes of negotiation, identity, and justice.
The fellowship provides up to $5,000 to be used for project-related expenses such as design, data collection, writing, and travel expenses related to data collection. Funds may not be used for stipends.
The project’s results will be submitted for presentation at the annual IACM meeting, and recipients are expected to prepare a paper for possible publication in NCMR.
Proposal Guidelines
Applications should consist of a three-page proposal that includes the following sections:
-
Purpose of the research, including research questions
-
Brief literature review emphasizing gaps to be filled
-
Research design and methodology
-
Methods, including data collection
-
Expected implications of findings
-
References
All submissions will be reviewed by a three-member committee appointed by the IACM Board.
Additional Expectations
-
Fellowship recipients must present their paper at a forthcoming IACM conference. Fellowship funds cannot be used for conference registration or travel.
-
Recipients are expected to submit the completed research product to NCMR for publication consideration.
-
Recipients are required to submit quarterly updates on research progress and funding needs.
