Published by Brandon Taylor Charpied on

Dear IACM Members,

On behalf of the IACM Board and Publications Committee, I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Jimena Ramirez Marin is the incoming Editor-in-Chief of our association’s journal, Negotiation and Conflict Management Research (NCMR). Dr. Ramirez Marin received her PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology from the University of Seville, Spain, and currently is a Full Professor of International Negotiation and Sales Management, and an Academic Director at IESEG School of Management, Lille, France. Previously she served as a Visiting Professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Her term as Editor-in-Chief of NCMR begins in August 2022, following the conclusion of Dr. Qi Wang’s Editorship.

Dr. Ramirez Marin is an established scholar in negotiation and conflict management and currently serves as an Associate Editor at NCMR. In her capacity as associate editor, she has played an instrumental role in supporting NCMR’s transition to a platinum open access journal. She is an active and globally connected member within the IACM community, with an established reputation for programmatic research on how culture and relationships influence negotiation and conflict management. Her publications include three outstanding publications in NCMR, including a 2021 meta-analysis of cultural influences on negotiation strategy, a 2019 review of the influence of cultural norms on negotiation, conflict management, and communication, and a 2018 empirical research article examining how communal and exchange norms influence negotiators’ expectations. In addition to publishing top-quality research in NCMR, Dr. Ramirez Marin has published rigorous, influential research articles in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Organizational Behavior, International Journal of Conflict Management, Group Decision and Negotiation, and elsewhere.

Dr. Ramirez Marin served as an At Large Board Member for IACM from 2019-2021, and continues to serve on important IACM committees, including IACM’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee, IACM’s Negotiation Data Repository (NDR) committee, and the NCMR Article of the Year Award committee. The IACM Publications Committee and IACM Board were unanimous and enthusiastic in recommending and appointing Dr. Ramirez Marin as NCMR’s next Editor-in-Chief. She has the experience, research values, and motivation to guide and strengthen NCMR in her role as Editor-in-Chief. We are grateful for her service!

I offer my special thanks to the members of IACM’s Publications Committee (Dr. Zoe Barsness, Dr. Noam Ebner, Dr. Niro Sivanathan, and Dr. Cindy Wang) for conducting a rigorous and successful search. I also wish to express my deep gratitude and appreciation to our current Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Qi Wang. Thank you Dr. Wang for your continuing service to NCMR and IACM.

Sincerely,
Dr. Taya Cohen

IACM President (2020-2022)
