AI FOR PEAEBUILDING

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is twofold: to provide an overview of AI (Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Intelligence) for decision-making—purpose, promises, challenges and critique—relevant to diplomacy and conflict resolution; and to examine a key sector of peacebuilding activity: political negotiations and peace agreements to terminate hostility and violence between or within states, to show some AI innovations and effects on these processes, and offer a short research agenda for AI investigations to advance scientific knowledge on conflict to peace transition in light of empirical reality obstacles by exploring ideas using recently unleashed computer wizardry.

Keywords: AI, Negotiation, Peace Agreements, Decision-Making
