Learn from Reflection - Tools for Educators in Conflict Resolution
Abstract: Professional skills in conflict resolution develop not only through instruction but, crucially, through experience—provided that experience is processed systematically. This workshop introduces a practice‑based approach to strengthening learning through reflection‑on‑action among students and practitioners in the conflict resolution field. Drawing on the theories of Schön and Kolb, we present a set of tried‑and‑tested reflection tools that help participants transform concrete experiences into enhanced professional competence. The workshop is highly interactive and offers participants the opportunity to engage directly with selected activities Our aim is to inspire educators and trainers to tap into the often underutilized learning potential inherent in real‑world practice and to equip them with concrete methods for fostering sustained professional growth among those they teach and supervise. Additionally, practioners stand to gain value from this workshop, too.
