Abstract: Given the strife we see and experience throughout the world, what contributions to alleviating this strife are made by conflict management researchers and practitioners? In what ways are we contributing to the management of difficult conflicts at every level – interpersonal, intergroup, organizational, domestic, and international? In what ways can our work lead to more stable relationships, to a more stable global order, or to a more peaceful world? Are there recent examples of these kinds of contributions? Where are we best suited to make these contributions -- as writers, consultants, trainers, or teachers? How can we improve the practical value of our knowledge creation, and how can we be better at disseminating our knowledge for addressing conflict? How are we doing?
