Abstract: The symbiotic relationship between artificial (AI) and human intelligence is a cornerstone of the evolving workplace. However, concerns in higher education about students misusing AI are justified. Ethical considerations, bias in algorithms, and faculty readiness also pose hurdles that demand careful navigation and strategic planning in educational settings. Still, the existing literature overwhelmingly supports the pivotal role of AI in shaping the future of higher education. Thus, instead of being viewed as adversaries, AI and human intelligence can complement each other in the classroom and lead to enhanced productivity, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities in students. In this session, we will examine the symbiosis between AI and human intelligence, emphasizing the augmentation of higher education through the use of AI. We will explore how AI can be interwoven into traditional conflict management pedagogy, as well as across other disciplines. Attendees will be encouraged to share experiences integrating AI as a supplemental, complementary tool in their classrooms. We will conclude with a discussion of the AI-related skills that students need for the modern workplace.
