Abstract: In light of the recent events surrounding the state of transparency and scientific rigor, we plan to conduct a panel to address these issues in our field. The hope is to use this opportunity to empower researchers to bolster the scientific rigor of their work and foster an environment of accountability and trust within their research teams. In a 60-90 min session, this session aims to facilitate in-depth discussions. Our main objectives are to identify the current challenges, facilitate discussions to explore and share actionable strategies and responsibilities in promoting and enforcing scientific rigor, to empower researchers with insights and practices to navigate the challenges, and to foster a culture of transparency and trust in our community. We hope to be able bring in together scholars across rank, expertise, and institutions to partake in this vital conversation. This session could be beneficial for researchers at different stages of their career to uphold scientific rigor. The example topics to be discussed include managing coauthor responsibilities, power differences that may affect rigor, strategies/practices to maximize transparency, and more.
