Abstract: Female entrepreneurs always find themselves caught in a perpetual struggle between their passion for work and the guilt associated with their family responsibilities. This research investigates the intriguing dynamics of this tension and explores its potential motivational impact on increasing positive organizational outcomes. Drawing upon the Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, we propose that the tension between passion and guilt may motivate female entrepreneurs to invest additional effort and resources into their work to compensate for any perceived losses in family-related resources. This striving for resource gain can contribute to increased organizational resilience and subsequent firm performance. Through data collected from 140 female entrepreneurs, our study provides compelling evidence supporting this relationship. By recognizing the implications of this dynamic interplay, organizations and policymakers can provide targeted support and resources to enhance the success and well-being of female entrepreneurs in their unique work-family contexts.
