Abstract: The directness and oppositional intensity of conflict expression can influence conflict escalation and de-escalation spiral. Our research suggests that these expressions are perceived and responded to differently in various cultural logic contexts, such as face, dignity, or honor culture. Additionally, different generations react to these expressions in distinct ways, which can potentially lead to a spiral of conflict escalation. We propose that intergenerational trust can attenuate this escalation by facilitating trust-based information seeking.
