Emotionally Intelligent Artificial Intelligence? Future Possibilities and Potential Pitfalls

As the use of non-human negotiation agents increases, unpacking the current and likely future intrapersonal and interpersonal emotional competence of these agents is key. We build an emotional intelligence framework to help classify agents, assess their abilities, and recommend ways to improve their affective performance while avoiding potential future pitfalls.
