The Effect of Gender On Receptiveness and Curiosity In Conversational Conflict

Female writers were rated by themselves and others as more receptive, and female raters perceived others’ text as more receptive. These findings illuminate a gap between women’s and men’s communication strategies, as well as between people’s self-rated and other-rated receptiveness, specifically on the sub-dimension of curiosity.
