The effect of gender on receptiveness and curiosity in conversational conflict
Abstract: Female writers were rated by themselves and others as more receptive, and female raters perceived others’ text as more receptive. These findings illuminate a gap between women’s and men’s communication strategies, as well as between people’s self-rated and other-rated receptiveness, specifically on the sub-dimension of curiosity.
Keywords: gender, negotiations, organizations, conflict management
