Group Prototypes and Capacity for Inclusion

Abstract: We offer a theoretical framework for understanding how group member prototypes influence the perceived inclusion of group members. By understanding the intragroup processes that link prototypicality and inclusion, we reveal new ways in which groups and organizations can redefine their prototypes to achieve greater inclusion across social groups.
