Negotiating Peace In The Middle of A 60+ Violent Conflict: The Case of Colombia
This study is about the array of ways Colombian communities, living in the middle of a prolonged violent conflict, managed to navigate and oftentimes transform the negative effects of war. It brings attention to the negotiation and conflict resolution methods that people living in conflict-ridden areas design as they seek to sustain their individual and collective lives. This research project is about the peaceful responses to the conflict that we’ve witnessed through our fieldwork, and the negotiation and conflict resolution methods and technologies we’ve evidenced and documented over 9+ years. We will present our research findings guided by the following questions: How do communities living in the middle of a violent conflict navigate and transform the negative effects of war? What are some of the negotiation and conflict resolution methods and technologies they craft and utilize to make life possible in the midst of a violent conflict?
