Roundtable: Interdisciplinary Perspective On Minimalization and De-Escalation of Conflicts (table B)
In this 90 min roundtable session we will present a multi-disciplinary perspective on strategies that minimize, de-escalate and manage conflicts on different societal levels, inter-personal, inter-group and international. Discussants will address several issues: A. This talk explores the efficacy of mediator’s “tactical strengths” in international crisis mediation, specifically focusing on the behavioral dimension of mediation and how mediators employ various techniques to shape the moods, motivations, and beliefs of the parties in international crisis. B. The use of digital and AI tools in pre-trial procedures, aimed at minimizing the conflict in front of the court or even eliminating it. Using smart decision systems and unsynchronous communication. C. The importance of a preventive-based approach, using conflict resolution education among professionals. We suggest educating professionals from various fields to enhance conflict resolution skills and knowledge, as a mechanism to avoid escalation of conflicts into crises in the fragile inter-identity relations. D. The perception of lawyers as agents of change and prevent conflict escalation via adequate legal education for lawyers. Projects aimed at legal education that clarifies the advantages of the non-adversarial attitude and practical tool for representing clients in cooperative processes. E. The reducing of conflicts intensity in Labor Court Cases by referring them to mediation in their early stages. In order to provide effective judicial system services, to promote social change, to allow the parties to be responsible for the resolution of their own conflict. The discussants are scholars specializing in conflict resolution processes from different perspectives: Identity Based Conflicts, International Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Digital Dispute Resolution, Cooperative and Therapeutic Jurisprudence.
