Gendered Benefits of Passion For High Potential Designation

We find that being seen as passionate increases the likelihood of high-potential designation for reasonably-high performing men but not women, because passion increases perceptions of diligence among men but not women. These findings reflect the ways that passion confers unequal benefits along gender lines, giving rise to organizational inequality.
