Race-Based Impression Management For Organizational Activists

Many employees are engaging in organizational activism, pushing for anti-racism within the workplace. Differences in social identity, however, can influence the consequences related to organizational activism for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with people from targeted identities more likely to face social and job consequences for their activism work. In this quantitative study, we explore if organizational activists with different racial identities use different race-based impression management techniques, and explore if these differences in impression management might in turn influence perceived levels of social and job consequences.
