Workshop: Using The Vanderbilt Transformer Ai Model For Negotiation Research
This workshop introduces participants to the use of transformer AI models for negotiation research, and how to use the Vanderbilt model. This model is being developed from several base (“foundational”) transformer models, by “training” it on a set of about 1000 transcripts provide by negotiation scholars (many of whom are IACM members). The model will be available for the scholarly community to use for free. The workshop explores research questions that might be addressed with these models, how to run the models, and how to interpret the output. It is also a chance for participants to give suggestions for modifications of the model, and what next steps might be most valuable. It is encouraged (but not required) that those who want to test out the models on their negotiation or dispute transcripts send the presenter (by June 20) a sample of transcripts you might want to analyze during the workshop.
